In this section, you are going to know about the 1st semi-final match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 played between Pakistan and New Zealand. This was a very exciting match. The New Zealand cricket team is known as a hard team to defeat. In this whole tournament, it only lost one match played against England.
So there was a tough job for the Pakistan team to rebuttal such a tough team. This was the 6th match of Pakistan’s team, amongst lost 2 matches and won 4 including the semi-final. The pitch was very smooth and a batting pitch.
1st Inning New Zealand batting
New Zealand skipper Kame Williamson won the toss and elected to bat first. Since the pitch was a batting pitch so New Zealand skipper decided to bat first in order to give a huge target to the Pakistan team. The stadium was full of about 25 to 30 thousand crowds of people. Pakistan and New Zealand team audiences were looking so excited.
This was really a very exciting match. This match was played in Sydney stadium in Australia. Finn Allen and Devon Conway came for batting from the New Zealand team. Shaheen Shah Afridi a left-hand fast bowler did attack from the Pakistan side. On the very first ball, Finn Allen shot the ball to the boundary and got 4. On the third ball of the same over Shaheen Shah Afridi did lbw to Finn Allen.
He made only 4 scores and went to the pavilion. Shaheen Shah Afridi became a wicket-taking bowler in the very first over for the 7th time. On the last ball of the 6th over Devon Conway ran out by Shadab Khan. He made 21 runs along with 3 fours and faced 20 balls.
Glenn Phillips a right-hand batter came after Conway. Glenn Phillips too couldn’t play a fine and was caught out by Muhammad Nawaz in his over. He made only 6 runs. Daryl Mitchell was the next batsman. Skipper Williamson and Mitchell played a fine inning.
Both made 50 runs partnership. Skipper Kame Williamson bowled in Shaheen Shah’s over. He made 46 runs with 1 four, 1 six, and faced 42 balls. Daryl Conway made 53 runs and remained not out. Newzealand gave a target of 153 to the Pakistan team.
2nd Inning Pakistan batting
Skipper Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan came for batting. Both batters couldn’t a single match fine inning. But in this match, Both openers played a very fine inning and made a 100 runs partnership. Skipper Babar Azam was caught out by Daryl Mitchell. He made 53 runs with 7 fours and faced 42 balls.
Boult took his wicket. Muhammad Haris a right-hand batter came for batting after skipper Babar Azam. Boult took the 2nd wicket of Muhammad Rizwan. He made 57 runs with 5 fours and faced 43 balls. Muhammad Haris was caught by Glenn Allen.
He made 30 runs with 2 fours, and 1 six, and faced 26 balls. Santner a left-hand spinner bowler took his wicket. Pakistan won the semi-final match by 7 wickets. Congratulations to the Pakistan team.
